The National Institute of Education and Youth (NIVaM) organized thematic training sessions from November 8 to 11, 2023. In their implementation, he collaborated with the International Center for Education on Auschwitz and the Holocaust.
Twenty teaching staff and professionals took part in the event at the International Center for Education on Auschwitz and the Holocaust in Poland. The education included workshops on the topics of the Second World War, the Holocaust and concentration camps. The theoretical information was supplemented by a visit to the concentration camp Auschwitz I and the concentration and extermination camp Auschwitz II-Birkenau.
In a short video, we present the authentic reactions of the participants in the education. A powerful experience, many emotions, a great impression or stimuli for further use in teaching. These are just some of their reactions, which confirm the importance of this educational activity and its impact on practice.
Educational trainings at the International Center for Education about Auschwitz and the Holocaust in Poland are part of the activities within the framework of a predefined project entitled "Innovative teacher education with the aim of increasing their intercultural competence in the educational process of Roma pupils" within the Local Development, Poverty Alleviation and Roma Inclusion program. The project is financed from Norwegian grants and from the state budget of the Slovak Republic.
