PROJECT BACKGROUND

In times of pandemic, the need to provide online education for teaching staff in primary and secondary schools in the areas of Romani language and Roma culture has become apparent, as access to teaching resources and education in these areas is lacking. Online education plays an important role because it increases the motivation of teachers to apply intercultural topics in practice, which to a large extent alleviates tensions between Roma and the majority, prevents manifestations of intolerance towards Roma children in schools and outside of schools.

The main objective of the project:

To increase key professional competences of kindergarten and primary school staff in the areas of application of intercultural approach and innovative teaching methods. The aim is to preserve, protect and develop Roma identity through Roma cultural values.

Specific project goals:

To provide online training to project participants.

To provide project participants with examples of good practice aimed at increasing intercultural understanding.

To increase the interest of the project participants in the knowledge of the Romani language, Roma history and traditional Roma culture.
