Successful completion of innovative teacher training

Teachers of Zlaté Klasy Primary School defended their final presentations in front of the examination panel.

The teachers of Zlaté Klasy Primary School defended their final presentations in front of the examination panel. The presentations were focused on the preparation for lessons using the acquired competences from the innovative education "Intercultural education in schools with pupils from Roma communities". Preparations for lessons were developed in the subjects including  Biology, Mathematics or Religion. Teachers presented their experience of using Romani language during the teaching of the mentioned subjects. The aim of such prepared lessons is to increase pupils' motivation to learn,  support their reading literacy, to extend their knowledge of the Romani language and to repeat and consolidate learning materials through new methods and forms of teaching. The next group of teachers will present their pedagogical experience on January 30, 2024.

The project "Innovative training of teachers to increase their intercultural competences in the educational process of Roma pupils" is implemented within the framework of the Local Development, Poverty Eradication and Roma Inclusion Programme funded by Norway Grants and the State Budget of the Slovak Republic.

The project entitled Innovative Training of Teachers to Increase Intercultural Competences of Teachers in the Educational Process of Roma Pupils was awarded from Norway through the Norway Grants in the amount of 1 105 000 €. The project was co-financed in the amount of 195 000 € from the state budget of the Slovak Republic. The aim of the project is to systematically support the introduction of the teaching of Romani language and literature, Roma culture and history at all levels of education within the school curricula of schools with pupils from Roma communities, to promote intercultural education, democratic and inclusive school environments.
